Our Programs, Details.

Bright Start welcomes all children regardless of race, color, religion, nationality or background. Children are accepted on a first come, first serve basis, and we maintain a waiting list for those age groups that are full. We accept children from 6 weeks of age though age 5. Our early care program, serves children from ages six (6) weeks to thirty five (35) months, and our Preschool is a STEAM ( Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics) integrated which serves children ages three (3) years to (5) years. We are a diverse bilingual early care and learning center. We are your child’s home away from home.  Bright Start Early Care and Preschool is an accredited program by the National Accreditation Commission, (NAC).
“At Bright Start Early care and Preschool, we lovingly inspire your child to their fullest potential; to respect, honor and nurture your child, and to embrace their uniqueness.”

  • Bright Start feels more like a family where children are exposed to challenging experiences everyday. My son has been fortunately enough to be surrounded by caring adults who truly do the very best to prepare little ones for the elementary school.

  • Our son is in the Pooh Nursery and one of our big concerns is that he is so much younger than the other infants. We’re still learning what needs and how to communicate with his teachers. Elliot just started but overall, we feel very positive about things.

  • Our child started at Bright Start at 10 months old each year we are thrilled with his growth and development and we appreciate the care our son has received. He learns and explores because he is in an environment that encourages the children’s nature curiosity. Marcia is very committed to providing the best care & education & she employs staff that have this same values. We have never felt like our son wasn’t safe or cared for. We love Bright Start & are blessed that this has been a part of families journey.

Pooh Nursery

Say Hi to the Pooh Nursery Class. Our classroom is designed for movement, exploration and discovery in a safe, comfortable environment that resembles home. Natural lighting, thoughtfully displayed materials and age-appropriate soft toys invite curiosity while promoting a calm ambiance.

Our teachers work to foster feelings of security and independence by continuously communicating intentions and outcomes. We incorporate daily routines centered on the needs and wants of the children. Routines are the key for a predictable class environment that facilitates social and emotional security.

Activities for infants incorporate development of fine and gross motor skills, art, music, and language.
Enrichment programs, such as baby sign language and baby yoga, help to prepare your child for the learning ahead.

In the Pooh Nursery Class, your baby’s safety and security is the highest priority.

Welcome to the Wobbler’s Class. Our class encourages your child’s natural curiosity in a fun and active learning environment.

The teachers plan daily activities in a bright and cheery environment to encourage children to investigate the world. Children enjoy a consistent daily structure with quiet activities, music and movement and outdoor playtimes.

Learning centers with blocks, manipulatives, art supplies and books encourage imaginary play, and circle time incorporates stories and songs that foster the development of language and social skills. Teachers guide the children through activities that strengthen gross motor skills and fine motor skills.
We believe in the importance of creating a strong bond between the child and teacher. As children are just learning to communicate verbally, significant emphasis is placed on modeling appropriate language and behavior. The teachers offer them experiences to discover and interact with a variety of materials. They are encouraged to explore areas of interest by working with paper, water, and paint.

Welcome to the Discovery Class! As children begin to walk and talk regularly, their curiosity drives them to explore. Our class encourages children’s developing independence by helping them fine – tune self-help skills, such as the abilities to feed themselves, relate to others and make choices.
These skills and the opportunity to play and discover empower children to become more confident learners as they investigate new concepts. For instance, when a child plays with a shape sorter toy, the child is developing basic problem-solving skills and learning what different shapes look and feel like.
In our class, children become more adept at using utensils like spoons, paintbrushes and markers. As they master their fine motor skills, they play with a purpose.
When your child picks out a puzzle and tries to put it together, your child is planning and completing a simple project. This helps the child develop feelings of competence and self-esteem, setting the foundation for future learning success.

Hello to the Explorers Class where socialization is the key aspect of a child’s development during the early preschool age!  Children transition from independent play to active play in groups. Sharing, taking turns, respecting, and listening to others are actions that become more meaningful. Their curiosity will continue to launch projects that allow them to experiment and investigate through their learning.

The classroom becomes an environment filled with discovery. It is equipped with unique project-related equipment as well as the basic supplies needed to offer a diverse educational experience.

As the children continue projects, they begin to use a variety of tools such as brushes, tape, scissors, pictures and others. The children will continue building on previously learned curricular experiences in the areas of literacy, music, and art.

Say Hi to the Innovators Class! At this age, children are constantly questioning their surroundings. Their creations are built with the intention to obtain a final product.

Through activities that fine-tune their gross and motor skills, children are given opportunities to trace over light tables. They work with clay, string and natural elements to facilitate learning and experiences. The written and spoken languages begin to take an active role in their lives.

Teachers deliver an “emergent curriculum” that is built upon children’s curiosity, emerging interests, ideas and questions. Lessons are planned in response to the group’s interests and concerns, and the curriculum expands into inquiry. Teachers and students begin to become co-learners to understand concepts in all curricular areas.

Children are approaching the world with curiosity and becoming complex thinkers. They continue to participate in project learning in the emergent curriculum.

Project works provides ample opportunity for discussion, decision-making, choices, cooperation and evaluation during the course of an investigation. Through projects, teachers plan and deliver a wide variety of educational experiences which incorporate literacy, math, science, social students, nature, art, music, dramatic play and motor development.

In our class, the children begin using computers and a smart board as sources of communication, learning and research.

Our program incorporates STEAM learning (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) into exciting, fun experiences for children.
